Wadzanai works with and for women in Chinamhora area of Goromonzi district in Zimbabwe which covers 8 wards each ward consisting of an average of 5 villages. The patriarchal society and culture still to this day oppress and suppress women to be as dormant and dependant on their male folk, yet at the same time expected to give unpaid, unsupported and unrecognized labour for their family, relatives and community. Wadzanai seeks to break this chain of oppression by making women financially independent, emotionally and psychologically empowered for a better community. Our programmes are to fill a gap that would have been seen in the community.
